One of the rivers in Le Senegal is the Senegal River. It is 1,110 miles long. This river runs through Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, and Senegal. It even forms the border between Senegal and Mauritania. The river flows with mountains and valleys. It has two large streams that meet the Senegal River, Bafing and Bakoye. The Senegal River eventually goes to the Atlantic Ocean. The river is a big water source for the people of Senegal.

The largest mountain in Le Senegal is the Kilimanjaro mountain. It is known as the largest snow covered mountain. It provides a life source for the people who live around this mountain. It provides volcanic soil for agriculture and a lifetime source of spring waters. They say it takes 7 days and 6 nights to climb the mountain.

Senegal climate ranges between hot, humid, tropical and rainy seasons. The rain season usually goes between June and October. The season is shorter up north but longer in the south. The average rainfall is about thirteen inches. During the cold season December to April, it gets up too to 79° F and gets down too 63° F. During the hot season May to November, it averages between 86° F and 68° F. What to do? Make a trip to Le Senegal! You will soon to find there are many things to do when here. Goree Island is a historical, colonial, and peaceful place. It was the center mark for the slave trade; It even has a museum called Maison des Esclaves that was an old slave house.

People and history in Le Senegal The population was estimated around 2002. The number they reached were 9 million. Senegal has many different ethnics. The Wolofs make up 35%, Pulaar 20%, and the Sereres 17%. The religon ranges between Muslim 92%, indigenous 6%, and Christian 2%. There main langauge is French but they also speak Wolof, Pulaar and Diola. Senegals first ever president was Leopold Senghor. There independence falls on April 4th when the french Sudan merged with to form the Mali Federation. Senegals go by the name senegalese.The United States and Senegal have a true bonding. Senegal runs there goverment just like the U.S.
